The Legacy Makers Block Party

The Legacy Makers block party offers an independent, free, and family friendly event that runs from 2pm to 9pm on Saturday, July 15th and features a myriad of summertime activities.

The daytime activities include personal appearances by professional athletes, Charles Harris, defensive end for the Detroit Lions and Ishmail Wainright, power forward for the Phoenix Suns.

The family reunion/block party is complete with vendors, competitions, and family style fun. The live jazz music begins at 6:00pm, on the Jay McShann Stage located on the north lawn of the American Jazz Museum.

Featured Musical Performances include the Charles Fisher Band, Flutienastiness and the Soul Patrol, and the James Ward Band. Speaking of “the nine-year-old Charles Fisher, in 2015, Kansas City’s FOX 4 TV said, “He’s been playing trumpet since age four. He also plays the trombone, clarinet, drums and keyboard.” A short 8 years later, here is the same your man leading his own band on the American Jazz Museum stage.

Trumpeter, Charles Fisher will serve as the opening act for local veterans, Flutienastiness and the Soul Patrol, and The James Ward Band.

Saturday, July 15th – 2pm - 9pm - musical performances beginning at 6:00pm – on the lawn
