JCCC’s Midwest Trust Center Welcomes Audiences to October Jazz Shows


Overland Park, KS (September 7, 2021) Emily Behrmann, Executive Director, the Midwest Trust Center (formerly Carlsen Center), today welcomed audiences to purchase tickets for October shows, featuring local favorites and nationally recognized artists. Performances will take place at the Midwest Trust Center on the campus of Johnson County Community College, 12345 College Blvd., Overland Park, KS 66210).

Behrmann said, “We are thrilled to present performances and tours again to our guests! It’s been a long road to get here, and we know it’s not over yet, but we are grateful for the support of the college, the staff, and the artists to allow us to gather safely. We look forward to welcoming everyone back with this wonderful lineup.”

October 17, 2021, 7:00 p.m. – Kansas City native, Bob Bowman, and his quintet return to Yardley Hall for an evening of jazz. The composer and bassist has been a major contributor to Kansas City jazz since the 1980s. This spellbinding performance is part of the Winterlude series at MTC, which features local and touring jazz musicians.

October 22, 2021, 8:00 p.m. – The Kansas City Jazz Orchestra will make their exuberant return to Yardley Hall after appearing with Marilyn Maye in 2018. On a mission to preserve Kansas City’s rich heritage of jazz, and led by Artistic Director, Clint Ashlock, KCJO will present a combination of classic and original repertoire to delight and entertain audiences.
