The many changes at the Folly Theater have given the place new life. This season’s jazz series has been filling to capacity and the lineup continues to please. Women in Jazz month is hereby extended at the Folly with 3 fabulous women of song finishing out the next 3 months.
Oleta Adams has maintained a long and elegant career in jazz and related music. She won the city’s heart by performing nightly in well appointed nightclubs in some of our best hotels. Her tours and subsequent recordings with and without the pop sensation, Tears For Fears catapulted Oleta into the international spotlight. March 11 at the Folly
Saxophonist Tia Fuller is a product of Detroit’s rich jazz culture. She has been a popular fixture on Mack Avenue Jazz, the premiere Detroit record label for a decade now. Recent tours with Grammy winning vocalist Beyoncé has brought Ms. Fuller to a much-wider audience. April 22 at the Folly
