Planning is under way for Spotlight Charlie Parker. There will be a post-event for Spotlight Charlie Parker on Tuesday, September 13th at noon, in the Nerman Museum Atrium at JCCC-Charles Perkins alto sax & Gerald Spaits on bass, performing a collection of Charlie Parker compositions. As for the 5-day event, here is the schedule as it stands
Aug 23-OPENING EVENT: At the Truman Auditorium in the Plaza Library Branch is a catered reception with cash bar, Panel discussion with Charlie Parker Experts, “Charlie Parker’s Kansas City”, plus a live performance featuring some of our younger jazz musicians. (Plentiful and easy parking!)
Aug 24-TBA
Aug 25, early evening-MEET & GREET @ KC Bier Co., featuring performance by Bram Wijnands.
Aug 26-TBA
Aug 27-10-12AM-18th & Vine History Tour, guided by Geri Sanders & Chuck Haddix.
Aug 27-Student Musician Boot Camp, Paseo Academy, led by Chris Burnett.
Aug 27-SIGNATURE CONCERT, featuring Dan Thomas and the KC All-Stars. Venue TBA
